Myrtle J Newton, 79, of Anderson, SC passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at her residence.
Born on July 26, 1940 in McComb, Mississippi she was the daughter of the late Reverend C.L. Crews and Katie Lee Valley. Myrtle was a member of Burdine Road Church of God and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters: Kathryn L. Bowen (Dlynn), Janice Culpepper, Cindy Bryant (Larry), and Tammy Bryant; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son: Roger Dale Johnson Jr; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Burdine Road Church of God and will be officiated by Reverend Curtis Lanier and Charles Culpepper Jr. Burial will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12pm – 2pm, at the church.
The family will be at the residence.
