Nathan Olin James, 78, of Anderson SC, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
Born on January 10, 1947, in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Albert and Rilla McCrary James and the husband to the late Vickie Scott James. He loved his family and his K9 Midnight; enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, Nascar, fishing and guitar picking.
He is survived by his son: Christopher James (Jennifer); sister: Annie Jewel Smith; grandchildren: Brandon Wayne Goldman (Hayley), Audrey Danielle James, Steven Michael James, Kloi Ann Hunter and 3 great grandchildren as well as his best friend: Midnight.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by a brother: Albert Otta James Jr.; sisters: Mary Ellen James, Margaret Josephine Hannah, Jesse Edith Toney, Lois Clara Higginbotham and Judy Cathey James, as well as a grandson: Matthew Dillon James.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 1pm to 2:30pm at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory.
A graveside service at New Silverbrook Cemetery will be held at 3pm with Pastor Ron Poole officiating.
The family will be at the home of his sister: Annie Jewel Smith.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
