Peggy Joyce Teater, 90, of Belton, SC, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at her home.
Born in East Stone Gap, VA, on July 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Eula Gilley and the wife to Norman Teater.
Peggy, a loving mother and wife enjoyed a successful career as a bookkeeper. Outside of work she was a long-time Girl Scout Leader and the first woman Patrol Leader in the BSA Leadership Program, Woodbadge, an avid reader and loved books. She loved to travel with her daughter – her favorite trip was when they traveled throughout Israel and France. She could always be found cheering her grandsons on at baseball tournaments and track meets. Her family and friends will miss her ever-present smile. She was loved greatly, and her light will not be forgotten.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: Stuart Teater (Sharon); daughter: Robin Aldana (Thomas); grandchildren: Evan Aldana (Savannah) and Christian Aldana; great-grandchildren: Kai Aldana and Layla Aldana.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother: Charles Gilley.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Trinity United Methodist Church in Anderson and Hospice of the Upstate.
