Raymond L. Hammonds, 71, of Anderson SC went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 with his family at his bedside.
Born on May 25, 1943 to the late Luther and Mertie Nix Hammonds, he was the spouse to Sharon Nix Hammonds for 24 years and a member of Lebanon Baptist church; was proud to have served in the US Army during Vietnam. Raymond was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post 113.
In addition to his spouse, he is survived by sons: Shane(Chasity) and Corey Hammonds; and Jason Humphries(Leigh), daughter: Tamera Humphries, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by sisters: Hazel Hammonds and Mary Ann Boggs and a son: Charles Ray Hammonds.
Funeral Services will take place at Lebanon Baptist Church on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 3pm with Rev. Billy Whitfield and Rev. Harry Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Sons and grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers, with American Legion Post 113 serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday at the church from 1pm to 3pm.
The family will be at the residence.
