Roger Ted Whitfield, 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away on July 23, 2014 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Ligon and Maude Garrett Whitfield and a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea with the 101st Airborne Division.
He is survived by his sons: Roger Whitfield (Frankie) and Stevie Whitfield (Mary); daughters: Malandie Nixon and Kristy Farmer (Mark); brothers: Dennis and Ralph Whitfield; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel, on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 12 noon officiated by Rev. Sam Duncan and Pastor Lanny Cobb. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Kristy Farmer, 350 Brooks Road in Belton, SC and will receive friends prior to the service at the mortuary from 11am – 12 noon.
