Rosa Bridges Kay Merck February 5, 1937 - October 30, 2023

Rosa ‘Roberta’ Bridges Kay Merck, 86, of Belton, SC, passed on Monday, October 30, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born on February 5, 1937, in Lincoln County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Cole Blease and Estelle Palmer Bridges.  She was widowed twice, first to the late James R. Kay and second to Harold D. Merck.

Roberta was a loving mother, grand, and great grandmother.  She had a passion for reading, gardening, flowers, and cooking.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children:  Terry Kay (Susan) and Wanda Kay Garrison; sisters:  Barbara Simmons (Steve) and Joyce Richey (Don); grandchildren:  Adam Garrison (Megan), Scott Garrison, Joshua Kay, Kaleb Kay, Shinya Kay, and Shawn Kay; great-grandchildren:  Weston Norris, Adii-Rhae Garrison, and Briggin Garrison.  She is also survived by her beloved Bentley.

In addition to her parents, and husbands, she is also predeceased by sons:  Billy R. Kay and Michael Dale Kay; and siblings:  R.L., Robert, Dwaine Bridges, and Ruth Bright.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 12pm officiated by Pastor Sam Duncan at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel.  A burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Wanda Garrison, and will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 10:30am – 12pm.
