Evelyn Bice Simpson October 16, 1938 - October 27, 2023

Evelyn Bice Simpson, 85, of Anderson SC, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at National Health Care.

Born on October 16, 1938, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie L.R. and Virgie Martin Bice and the wife to the late John Henry Simpson for 53 years. Evelyn was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple and worked in the textile industry as a weaver and retired after over 50 years. She received tremendous joy from her doll house and collection of dolls. Evelyn’s sons were the light of her eyes, she was a giver of her resources and supported many charities in Anderson and the surrounding communities.

She is survived by her sons: Eric Simpson (Nancy) and David Lee Simpson (Liz); brother: Michael Bice (Nancy); sisters: Joann Bell (Jimmy) and Marlene Rizk (Joe); 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her son: Richard Simpson; brother: James Bice; and her sisters: Louise Lollis (Leon) and Jeannette Harbin.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel with Pastor Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held following the service at the South Chapel on Friday, November 3, 2023.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
