Roscoe Spear Sr, 78, of Anderson, SC, formally of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Sebring, FL on May 27, 1939, he was the son of the late Hamlin Reese and Lettie Belle Spear and the husband to Gloria Spear. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a Veteran of the US Navy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Roscoe “Rocky” Spear Jr, and Michael Robert Spear; daughter: Mary Elizabeth Spear; sisters: Christine Sauls, Janie Jones and Linda Quinn; grandchildren: Jessica Craine, Aaron Spear, Isiah DuBose, Madison Spear, Jeremy Tabor, Aden Tabor and Corey Tabor; a great-grandson: Kaine Craine and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two sisters: Mary Braxton and Ann Altman.
Funeral services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 1:30pm. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Rites.
Visitation will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
