Sara Elizabeth Cox Timms, 89, of Honea Path, SC, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2023, at her home.
Born on November 24, 1933, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Broadus and Willie Mae Walls Cox and widow of the late James Timms. She was also a member of Austin Road Baptist Church.
Mrs. Timms is survived by her Children: Sandra M. Posey (Donnie), David McKee (Christine), Ronnie McKee (Karen), and Judy M. Freeman (Roy); Brothers: Gerald Cox (Joyce) and Lindell Cox; Sister-in-law: Patsy Cox; as well as 80 Grandchildren, including Grand, Great-Grand, Great Great-Grandchildren; and her Daughter-in-Law: Susan McKee .
In addition to her Husband and Parents, she is preceded in death by her Children: Steve McKee and Debbie McDonalds; and Brothers: Winford Cox and Rev. Larry Cox; and Sisters-in-Law: Betty Cox and Joyce Cox.
Funeral Services will be held at 5pm on Tuesday June 20, 2023, at the Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel and will be officiated by Rev. Billy Slatten. A private interment will take place at the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
The family will be at the home and will also receive friends from 3pm to 5pm on Tuesday at the Mortuary.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
