Timmie “Big Tim” Drawdy, 67, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday September 4, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 24, 1956, in Colleton County, SC, he was the son of the late Guy S. Drawdy and Sula Owens Drawdy. He retired from Anderson County Solid Waste and was the owner of Tim’s Bug Shop. He was an honorary member of Flat Rock Bowen Fire Department Station #25 where he served for 33 years and was a former Assistant Chief.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frankie Carroll Drawdy; son: Tim David Drawdy (Angel); daughter: Tina Faye Drawdy-Singleton (Brad); brother: Wayne Drawdy; grandchildren: Earon Gunter (Paige), Grace Drawdy, McLane Drawdy, Ella Drawdy, Alex Singleton, Austin “Boog” Singleton, Katie Hart (Cagney); one great grand-child: Avery Hart and many nieces and nephews. Also, very special to him was all of his adopted neighborhood children and grandchildren along with his side kick “June Bug”.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers: Guy W. (GW) Drawdy, Robbie Drawdy, James (J.D.) Fleming; and sister: Alma Jean Fleming.
The funeral will be held at the House of Prayer 1221 Good Hope Church Rd Starr, S.C. 29684 on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastor Dale Cross officiating. The burial will take place at South Lawn Memorial Gardens with Full Fireman’s Rites.
Visitation will be held at the Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
The family will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to one of the two things that were important to Tim, Flat Rock Bowen Fire Department P.O. Box 14005 Anderson, S.C. 29624 or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at T2T.org.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
