Troy P. Crooks, 88, of Starr, SC, passed away on Thursday December 1, 2022, at the Anmed Health Medical Center.
Born in Seneca, SC on September 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Paul Sylvester Crooks Jr. and Lillie Mae Young Crooks and husband to Ovaline Westmoreland Crooks. Troy served faithfully in the SC National Guard, was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple, and was an avid camper and outdoorsman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Children: Woody Crooks (Judy), Connie McCullough (Rick), and Troy Crooks; Sisters: Louise Grant and Geraldean Smith; as well as numerous grand and great grandchildren.
Troy is preceded in death by his first wife: Mildred Logan Crooks; Daughter: Sybil Merritt in addition to his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday December 6, 2022, at the Gethsemane Baptist Temple and will be officiated by Pastor Sam Duncan with a private burial to follow the service.
The family will be at their respective homes but will receive friends at Gethsemane, prior to the service, Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
