William “Bill” Powell, 97, of Iva, SC, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Linley Park Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Williamston, SC, he was the son of the late John and Lou Anna Lyles Powell and the spouse to the late Gladys Powell. Bill worked at Anderson Mill for over 30 years and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his children: William “Willie” Powell Jr, and Mary Caldwell (Alph), grandchildren: Darlene Cleveland (Lee), Ann Turner, Lynn McAlister (Tommy) and Dean McConnell, 9 great-grandchildren, 16 great-greatgrandchildren 2 nephews and one niece.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 1pm with Rev. Michael Wiles officiating. A private burial will follow.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Mortuary from 12pm to 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The family will be at their respective homes.
