Agnes JoBeth Maxwell, 65, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
Born on March 27, 1961, in Anderson, SC, JoBeth was the daughter of the late Leland and Edith Hall Mitchell. She adored her grandchildren, cherished time with friends—especially her beloved coworkers at AnMed Labor and Delivery—and never met a stranger. JoBeth loved traveling, trying new foods, taking pictures, and capturing special moments with family and friends. She was truly one of a kind.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years: Rev Dr Thomas Maxwell; sons: Joshua Cole Maxwell (Katrina) and Jacob Mitchell Maxwell (Aaliyah); brothers: Alan Mitchell and Scott Mitchell; sisters: Luann Junkins and Carlene Gump; grandchildren: Makaila Maxwell and Rosalynn Maxwell; nephew: Chuck Mitchell and her special boyfriend at heart: Donny Osmond.
Visitation will be held at Sosebee Mortuary on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 5pm to 7pm.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 2pm with Pastor Phil Dyar. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home of Thomas and JoBeth Maxwell.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
