Bobby C Hanks October 4, 1932 - March 11, 2023

Bobby C. Hanks, 90, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Saturday March 11, 2023 at the Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.

Born on October 4, 1932, in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Robert and Adeline Hanks and husband to Mary E. Hanks. Bobby was a Veteran of the US Air Force, having served for four years in the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Hanks Jewelry, having taken over the business in 1956. He started repairing jewelry at the age of nine and designed jewelry for thousands across the United States. Bobby enjoyed flying, cooking, and was an avid gardener, as well as a Ham Radio operator. He was also a Shriner, Mason, and a founding member of Freedom Baptist Ministries, where he served as a deacon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Daughters: Cathy H. Stegall (Tommy), Mary “Peachy” Bryant, and Pam Harper (Roger Sexton); Sister: Pam Brewer (Wayne); as well as seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his Brother: Harris Hanks; and Grandchildren: Joey McCoy and Gene Brock.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm on Thursday March 16, 2023 at River Street Baptist Church, 708 E River St, Anderson, SC, 29624, and will be officiated by Rev. Tony Tilley. Internment will take place at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

The family will be at their respective homes but will receive friends at the church from 2pm to 4pm, prior to the service, Thursday.

Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to the Cailey and John Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC, 29621.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
