Doris Cheek Strickland January 12, 1931 - January 29, 2017

Doris Cheek Strickland, 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
Born on January 12, 1931 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Ozolia Cheek and married to the late Grady Strickland.
She is survived by her children: Lynn (Ranny) Cox and Ben (Cathie) Strickland; brothers: Victor Lee (Jeanette) and Frank Cheek; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband; she is also predeceased by a brother James Cheek.
Services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel, officiated by Rev. Victor Cheek and Dr. Kirt Mitchell. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday at the Mortuary from 1pm – 2pm.
Private burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the home at of her daughter, Lynn. The family asks that flowers be omitted.
