Florence McAlister December 4, 1934 - September 9, 2022

Florence Elkins Shirley McAlister, 87, of Anderson, SC, went to be with Jesus after peacefully passing in her home on Friday, September 9, 2022.

Born in Ragland, West Virginia, on December 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Millard Franklin and Grace Elkins. She was the wife of the late Melvin McAlister. She was a member of Grace Memorial Church for many years. During those years she held many offices and sang in the choir. She sang on WELC in her youth and grew up in Roderfield, West Virginia. She was loved by everyone and loved everyone in return.

She is survived by her children: James Wilber Shirley Jr and Grace Anna Shirley.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by 5 siblings and the father of her children: James Wilber Shirley Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 12pm at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel with Pastor Mark Dickson officiating.

Visitation will take place at the South Chapel on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 11am to 12pm.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
