Herman Lanier, 81, of Anderson SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on July 3, 1940, in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Grady and Annie Mae Reid Lanier and the husband of 52 years to the late Annie Ruth Lanier. Herman was known to be a great dad, loving husband and enjoyed golf and hunting.
He is survived by his children: Donnie Lanier (Sue) and Stephanie Lanier (Howard); brothers: Ernest and David Lanier; grandchildren: Doyle and James King and his uncle: Pastor Curtis Lanier (Joanne).
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by a sister: Gail Sanders.
A funeral service will be held at Burdine Road Church of God on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 2:30pm with Pastor Curtis Lanier officiating. A private burial will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church on Friday from 1pm to 2:30pm.
The family will be at their respective homes.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
