Joy Taylor September 23, 1932 - October 26, 2019

Joy Elaine Taylor, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday October 26, 2019 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.

Joy Aho was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 23, 1932. She graduated from Redford High in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart, Bruce Taylor, on July 21, 1951. They were married for 59 years, living in six other states before settling in the Greenville area in 1989.

She was very active her whole life. Some of Joy’s interests include, lifeguarding, swimming instructor and Girl Scout leadership. She also raised and trained Arabian horses before moving to South Carolina.

Joy was a very proficient Executive Secretary for Air Products and Chemicals Inc and several family businesses.

As a virtuous Proverbs 31 woman, Joy loved her family, honored her husband and best friend Bruce and was an active church member serving her brothers and sisters in the Church of Greenville. Until her accident in September of 2013 she was an avid walker covering 4 to 6 miles a day with her dogs.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Bruce, and her son, Dan.

She is survived by her brother, George Aho, sisters Kathy Lytle and Gail Sullivan, son David, daughters Debbie, Sherry and Sheila plus grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
