Rev. Benjamin R. Dyar, 75, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, SC on October 5, 1947; he was the son of the late Benjamin Columbus and Ruby Dickson Dyar and was married to the late JoAnn Chasteen Dyar. Benny was a retired preacher and evangelist. He faithfully served the Lord for over 50 years. He also worked as a bailiff for the Anderson County Courthouse.
Benny was a friend to all, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Teresa Wilkins (Ray), Benjamin Michael Dyar (Pat), Robyn Brown (Morgan), and Amanda Keaton; brothers: Wade and Ruben Dyar; sister, Angela Cross; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is also predeceased by his siblings: Perry Dyar, Rachel Vickery, Linda Cross, and JoAnn Vaughn.
Services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 1:30pm at Cross Hill Church of God officiated by Rev Larry Richardson and Rev. Scott Burdette. A burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
A time of visitation will be held at the Church on Monday prior to the service from 12pm – 1:30pm.
The family will be at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Robyn and Morgan Brown.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel, is assisting the family.
