Robert A. Price, ‘Pepaw’, 93, of Starr, SC, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Lakelands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Mize, GA on June 22, 1932; he was the son of the late Rothell and Nancy Dickson Price. He was a loving husband of 54 years to Hilda Price.
Robert was a hard worker from the age of 16 and after 36.5 years, he retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was a good gardener and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping with his camping club – The Wagoners.
Robert, since 1971, was a member of Middleton Road Baptist Church. While his health permitted him, he spent a lot of time doing church work.
In addition to his wife, Hilda; he is also survived by his children: Wanda Johnson (Carl) of Casselberry, Fl, Mike Price (Rachel) of Burnsville, NC, Debra Whitmire (Billy Ray), and Dannie Brooks Glenn (Dennis); grandchildren: Spencer Johnson (Katrina), Caitlyn Forman (Jeff), Jason Price (Hannah), Melissa Brock (Tommy), Jennifer Cummings (Brian), Brandon Whitmire, Chris Glenn, John Michael Glenn, and Anna King (Jacob); and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents; he is also predeceased by three brothers: Harold, Jimmy, and Joe Dan Price; and one grandson, Patrick Whitmire.
Services will be held at 2pm at Middleton Road Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Pastors Barry Davis and Dale Cross will officiate. Burial will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church on Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm.
The family wishes to extend heart-filled gratitude to Robert’s caregivers: Tricia Ballew, Elaine Shore, Tammy Ebbler, Robin Jones, Rhonda Bryant, Caroline Anneaux, Traci Shingleton, and Cheryl Holloway.
The family will be at the residence.
