Suzann Owens Barnett, 74, of Pelzer SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Pelzer SC, on December 18, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Frances Chasteen Owens and the spouse to the late Michael Ferrell Barnett. Suzann was retired from Gerber Mill and a member of Washington Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons: Jodie Ray Barnett (Nicki), David James Barnett, and Michael Lynn Barnett; brother: Ricky Owens; sister: Markie Bagwell; grandchildren: Brandon Barnett, Marshall Barnett, Cain Barnett, Tillie Barnett, Haley Barnett and Olivia Barnett; great-grandchildren: Hunter and Connor Barnett.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother: Jimmy Owens and a sister: Brenda Thurstan.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Washington Baptist Church, 208 Washington Church Rd Pelzer, SC 29669, with Pastor Stan Candler officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church on Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 2pm to 3:30pm.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

September 11, 2023 at 9:30 pmSuzann and I went to school together from first through third grade. During our third grade year, we were best friends. She moved away that summer, and I missed her very much. The last time I saw her was in high school when we were about 16. Even though I did not know her as an adult, I have never forgotten how close we were as young girls for that one year.
